I asked a friend what would be the “San Francisco breakfast” in her opinion. She said that it seems that a city got crazy about a cinnamon toasts lately. I was a bit surprised. When someone says a word “toast” I can see a dry piece of bread. I could not believe that people find it so good. Fortunately I did not say it out loud. She gave me a tip to visit Trouble Caffee. So I went there and I ordered a cinnamon toast and OMG it was the best toast I had in my life. It was so good, that I cut it in small pieces to enjoy it longer. I came back home and could not stop thinking about the toast, so I googled “how to make a cinnamon toast like in Trouble Cafe” and somehow I discovered that they buy their bread in Just for You on Dogpatch. I went there the next morning to buy it (I also had a delicious breakfast there and I promise to post recommendation of this place on Saturday). Today I made the cinnamon toasts for breakfast. I ate it while sitting on stairs and looking on San Francisco. It was a great breakfast.
The bread from “Just for you” coffee reminds me of brioche (and French know how to bake a bread as well). I strongly recommend it and a cinnamon toasts. Especially with a big cup of a strong coffee.
You will need:
- slice of a good white bread or brioche
- cinnamon sugar
Toast the slice until crispy and golden, spread it well with butter and sprinkle with a cinnamon sugar. You can make your own cinnamon sugar by mixing 1/2 cup of sugar with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon.
