I am a sweet tooth. I’m trying to fight with my urge for sugar and cheat with healthier options. It’s not easy at all, whenever I see chocolate I feel like grabbing it. But it is possible to make something delicious and healthy. Like this apple fritters. It will be more healthy without a glaze, but come one, you can pour just a little bit, just for a taste. I found this recipe on Erin’s healthy blog - Texanerin. It is definitely too good to be healthy.

I do not live in Amsterdam anymore, but I still love Dutch baby pancakes. It is easy to make, looks awesome and the way of serving is interesting. One pancake is good for two people and you can put whatever you want on it.

When I was a child, among me and my friends there were three favorite breakfasts: pancakes with apples, crepes or pancakes with yeast (racuchy). The choice depended on parents or grandparents who made it in a particular home. In my house we were eating pancakes with apples. I used to terrorize my grandmother to make it as often as possible. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner (sometimes I did). My mother used to make crepes but it was nothing in comparison to my grandma’s pancakes (sorry mom). I loved them.

2013 is full of walking for me and my Mr. It is fun, we’re walking for hours, talking and discovering Berlin. It could be more fun if the temperature rises over 0*C, but a gal can’t have everything. I have so many plans and resolutions for 2013 and I’m not sure if a year has enough days for all of them. Let’s hope so.

So far I’ve started to plan my trip to San Francisco, so if you have tips for me, please drop a line.

Let’s be honest, I wasn’t too active on a blog lately. Everything because I had too much work (I know that it’s a lame excuse). In the morning I was more eager to use prooven recipes than to experiment with new ones. I have some more time on my hands now and I want to change it, so let’s eat some good breakfasts together! I am still fighting with a sleep deprivation so I need caffeine and I figured out I could add some to my breakfast as well (in a moment more caffeine in my veins equals better). That’s why today’s proposition should be obvious - coffee crepes. Crepes are quite popular in my country and it was the only thing I could do for a long time (thank you grandma!).

I can still find figs on a shop shelves, so I keep eating them. I have few reasons to love it - the most important ones will be beautiful color and interesting flavor, the other one - I love to cut them. When we’ve been leaving Amsterdam, we got a farewell present - an amazing knife - not just any knife, because it cuts everything like a butter and slice figs so perfectly, that it looks like a marble.

I don’t know how many times I’ve wrote that internet is an amazing place. I need to write it again. It helps me to discover amazing blogs and recipes almost each day. I’ve been a bit busy for the past months and I didn’t really have time to go to the bookstores and search for new interesting positions among cook books. But thanks to an internet I’ve found so many interesting recommendations, thank you fellows bloggers. Each time I discover a new blog, that is so unique and special. Yesterday I’ve found Honey & Jam blog and I fell in love with it. You should definitely check this out.

It was delicious, it had to be, because I ate all 10. But I keep thinking that it is made out of oats, so it’s not a big deal :) Now I’m a bit afraid that I won’t be able to share it with T. the next time. If you’re not sure what an oat flour is, don’t worry, you can do it yourself. Simply put an of old-fashioned oats into a food processor and process until it is ground well.

I’d like to present another proposition for a weekend breakfast, or maybe not necessarily. You can always prepare quinoa cakes and an eggplant mix the night before and just heat it in the morning. I had mine yesterday and again today and it was still delicious.
