I love simple and effective recipes. What do I mean? I like when it’s easy to make, doesn’t contain too many ingredients, is delicious and looks good (my eyes like to eat as well). There is one additional element I use quite often while cooking - curiosity. I am curious about world. When Mr T asked me what smells so good I told him that it must come from neighbours’ apartment. He did not look disappointed, he just said that he’s curious what they’re making. I was smiling inside, because the smell was coming out of our oven and I knew that what’s inside will make him very happy. There’s something magical about cinnamon, the smell, taste and that it goes so well with so many different kinds of food. Especially with baked goods.

There are things you can get addicted to and I am not talking about a devil called internet. I mean pretzels. Yes, pretzels, soft, warm, fresh, the ones I buy almost every day and have with my coffee or without, with salt or butter or cinnamon… There are many variants. In Berlin there’s thousands of pretzels and I do buy them,. I love them in a strange kind of heart shape but I prefer the long ones, that look like a small baguette. For me it’s like eating a salty fingers, so small, delicious and can’t harm you.

I did approach the topic few times, 5 to be honest, each of them with a different recipe, each of times I failed. I must say that brioche is one of the most difficult cakes / breads that I’ve ever baked. Since my attempts left me not in the best mood, I made myself a promise the one day I’ll succeed. Do you know the movie “La Boum” with Sophie Marceau? I’ve seen it the first time like 20 years ago and I still love it. I remember a sene in a second part, where Sophie Marceau was sitting in a train with her grandmother, eating a croissant and drinking coffee. That was when I’ve discovered my favorite breakfast - coffee and the croissant. Years passed, taste changed, but not this. I still love it and had it like hundrets of times on my way to work. Actually it makes me feel great about a morning, so whenever I feel a little bit down, this is what I should eat.
