Welcome to my dream, yes literally. I am still jet lagged and I feel like living in a dream or rather standing next to my body most of the time. But I also have good moments, usually very early in a morning, like 4 am, when it’s still dark outside, apartment is covered in a total silence and I can drink my coffee and enjoy alone time with my sweet cat Ryszard. At this time he’s very tired so he just comes to the kitchen and lies down on my knees.

Today I made it simple. Everything started form a conversation and childhood memories. I don’t know if it was only Poland, but we used to have semolina for a breakfast quite often. My mum used to add a spoon of jam, so it was sweet and I loved it! You can go extreme and add a spiced strawberry sauce or maybe a home made jam if you made some this year.

English crumpets

It was snowing the whole day yesterday and Amsterdam is just beautiful. Bikes and canals are covered with snow and I’m happy to see it, as the past winter months were nowhere near this view. Today’s recipe may be time consuming unless you have few round cookie cutters. Also with this amount to a dough you will make plenty of crumpets, so if it’s a breakfast for two you may want to cut ingredients in half. I served mine with a sour cream and raspberry jam and we loved it!

If you’ve been ever afraid of making a jam, try this one. It’s trivial, and you’ll be able to eat it during a cold winter days.

Souffle omelette with jam and berries

I had an intensive weekend, full of work and excitement. We had an amazing weather over here, you may say the summer time, but unfortunately I couldn’t use it at all. As Monday came, good weather disappeared as well. That’s why I’ve made this amazing omelette with berries to cheer myself up. And it helped!

Rhubarb and vanilla jam

I always wanted to make a jar of jam but I had this vision that it’s difficult. I remember someone told me that you need to boil fruits for a few hours and it’s definitely few hours too long. And lately I’ve found a nice and simple recipe, and a result of it was delicious, so try it as well. Rhubarb cake is delicious, so is jam :)

classic scones

You can make a large range of scones, but let’s start with the classic ones. The good thing about scones is, that you can put formed cake into the freezer and and reheat two or three whenever you feel like it, because they can last for months.

almond raspberry cereal bars

It’s high time to make your own bars. And it was a right time for me as well. I’ve found a very nice recipe on Always with butter blog and I’ve decided to give it a chance. How great it is to grab it for a second breakfast. Not only it’s tasty, looks and smells great (oh vanilla) but it’s also nutritious.
