I’m ashamed to admit it, but I’ve discovered banana bread definitely too late, when I moved to Sydney few years ago. I was shocked that you can mix bread with bananas and that it tastes delicious in such a strange form. Since then I bake it from time to time and serve with everything that possible on it. Peanut butter and strawberries, orange, but my favourite way is to heat it on a pan with a bit of butter. Wow, I love banana bread!
What you need:
- 4 smashed bananas
- 140g melted butter
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp baking soda
- pinch of salt
- 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
Preheat the oven to 175°C. Mix butter into the mashed bananas and when it’s done add sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt, in the end add the flour. Pour mixture into a buttered not too big form and bake for around 1 hour. Delicious when hot and not only.
Enjoy! Marta
