Dolc i Salat is a small place with a big atmosphere. They serve italian sweets, sandwiches for breakfast and some other snacks. I tried cannoli and it was delicious, not too sweet, just perfect. I went there three days in a row and a friend said that I am truly dedicated to testing the place, but the true is, that I simply like it.

The first time I was sitting next to a small wooden table, that composes well with grey walls and other minimalist furnitures. The place is located on a busy little street, always full of people. Just opposite is a place selling cooked beans and locals are always queuing there. If you sit next to a big window, you’ll have a good spot for observation.

The second time I’ve met there with Ani, a lovely New Yorker who’s following her dreams and is a great spirit. Meeting creative and positive people is definitely a good start of a new year. The third time there was me and Tomasz, drinking coffee, getting crazy about cannoli and reading. The Doors LA Woman album was coming from speakers and I felt happy. I haven’t heard the whole album for a very long time, since the secondary school I’d say. It made me feel young and free. Small things like this one create a place and are very important.

So if you’re in the area and you need a place to sit with your book or over a coffee with a friend, go to Dolc i Salat and enjoy.

Just saw a picture of this post on Pinterest and fell in love with it. Your post is really beautiful! As a Barcelona girl I love to see my city through foreign eyes 🙂
Just one thing, the real name of this place is Mandarosso Pastís. Dolç i Salat is just a sign that remained from the former business and they kept it because it looks cool.I thought is was its name too!

Thank you Lorena, ups 😉 But I think that most people is confused, as even on Foursquare it’s cold D&S. It is an amazing place, I am always happy to say there for a coffee or two.

Nami I find few but then I am so jealous that you have so many places that I adore in San Francisco. Think about me when drinking a cup of coffee in one of lovely spots 🙂

I love to discover new cafes in different countries. It’s not that easy to find a perfect one, as there’s so many around. But when you find it, it’s such a great feeling.
