I have a thing for cute little places with a friendly service. But imagine this. You go inside a little cafe without expecting anything (we walked there from Friedrichshain, took some pictures in a Photobooth and were still very excited about our creativity), and walk into one of the most surprising interiors you’ve seen lately. Salumeria Lamuri is amazing. There are beautiful tiles with three different patterns that were meant to be together, cosy little tables, beautiful counter and a big window you can admire Berlin from.

There’s also a back room, all in wood with a window covered with plants. I loved it and could hardly concentrate on ordering. Honestly, I was walking around and just looking. All the little details make this place.

You order at the counter, where they explain you what you can have for breakfast and not only. I chose fresh panini (you have a choice of these ones and it’s good to ask) and Tomasz took one more and a soup.

It was all delicious, I am telling you. They serve a good coffee as well, espresso doppio was powerful and full of flavour. I like the way they serve soups – in jars, interesting and looking good. I also recommend their italian croissants – I had to argue with Tomasz when he asked for another bite. Boys are mean when it comes to food…

We met with friends and spent there good 3 hours. Maybe because of an amazing conversation, but most probably the cosiness of the place helped as well. So we made a statement that we’re coming back for more.

Salumeria Lamuri, Köpenicker Str.183, Mn – Fr 9 am – 6 pm, Saturday 10am – 6pm.

Pozdrawiam!

I went to Berlin once and it was such a great experience, I really liked the cafes, the food, the people and I became obsessed with all The Christmas Markets (<— tourist!). This looks like a charming place.

This is such a beautiful, detailed and thoughtful place. Love all of your photos Marta, they’re beautiful… I particularly love the decorated light with the fragrant flowers. We’ll be traveling to Berlin later this year so I am taking notes from all of your ‘eat Berlin’ posts! We shall be very well fed! Thanks xxx

I love following your blog. I come from Copenhagen and live in Berlin this february. I have made my task to try everything you have written about. So up until now, I have been in Markt Halle Neun, just love the streetfood market, Cafe Gipfeltreffen, cafe Chipps (the pancakes are astonishing) Kaffeebar this morning and I had the paninies and like you said they were delicious, and I finished my day with walking in to Mogg and Melzers and ordered the pulled pork sandwich, wow. I just want to say a huge thanks, because you surely have made my Berlin trip so much better. I wonder which cafe I will visit tomorrow. Ps. have you tried Le Bon on Boppstrasse? A sister restaurant to Kaffeebar just recently opened.

This place is impossibly beautiful. Pity it isn’t a little closer to my home here in Sydney! Serving food in mason jars seems to have swept the western world. The soup looks delicious.
