The past few weeks Berlin was a paradise. Perfect warm weather, I was biking for at least few hours almost each day. I’ve discovered new places, ate delicious things, it was just perfect. I could not wait for Mr T to come back, so we can share this beautiful time. And then he came, tanned and happy and when he crossed the door to our apartment the beautiful weather disappeared. It become cold and started to rain hard. I made so many plans for us but I am afraid I’ll have to change it. At least he’s back home.
I did not have holiday this year, but I had an amazing weekend in Prague. It was my first visit and the first time I met Monika who was our host. There is so much you’d love her for, but as this is a food blog, I need to mention that she’s a hell of a cook. During that weekend I had a chance to try her nakládanego hermelína, homemade pesto, stromboli, pavlova, bread and thinking about it makes me miss her even more. Creative people influence me, or make me hungry for deliciousness. And while missing Monika’s nakládanego hermelína, I made something similar but with feta. It is a very easy recipe and longer it stays in your fridge, tastier it is. We’ll see if you manage to wait. I didn’t.
You will need:
- feta
- garlic clove
- herbs – I used sage, thyme and rosemary
- chili flakes
- black pepper
- olive oil
Cut feta in cubes (around 1-1,5 cm), add all the spices, herbs and garlic and pour over the olive oil. Keep it in fridge. It’s better the next day, or later 😉
What a great way to enjoy feta!
This looks really good as I love feta. What a shame about the weather. At least you got to enjoy it.
What a wonderful time you had on your own. I’m so envious. Glad Mr T is back. I bet he loved this feta!
Marinated feta is such a simple but delicious addition to any dish. Love your recipe, I can imagine how yummy it must be! Thanks Marta x
I have a friend who can live off Feta…I am bookmarking this recipe just for her. She will be amazed that I made this, hahaha!! Thank you for posting this delightful recipe 😀
I often add feta to a tossed salad; I can imagine I’d need no dressing if I add these cubes. (If I can let them sit, you’re right about that.)
Love feta in oil like this – absolutely gorgeous and such a summery colour too.. makes me think of sitting out in the sun, under a tree with some wine or beer and this as a little aperitif!
feta with spices will probably be a great with a slice of bread on in salads- yummmm.
Snowy and cold is lovely, but rainy and cold is just terrible..
The spiced feta in oil looks fantastic!
I’m going to miss summer so much. Better devour and savor as much, with this beautiful & delish marinated feta 🙂
Sounds very aromatic!
Love the looks of this! And I’ll bet the flavor is wonderful. Thanks for this.
I love marinated feta, a perfect bite!
We got our first dose of cold and rainy weather today. I guess summer can’t last forever. This looks just delicious. I have a crusty loaf of bread I plan to bake tomorrow. I must add this feta to the menu!
Wonderful and flavorful!Cheers,Rosa
I love feta but have never tried it marinated in herbs! now I must!
The weather here has turned cold too and I am making the best out of the remaining sunny days
