I’m not crazy for kitchen gadgets. I usually don’t have them. I got my first kitchen mixer one year ago, so not too fast. But there are things I really want to have, like Chemex (I love it) or an iron pan. After a long time of wanting (I told you, I’m not too fast) I got my first iron pan. It is heavy, perfect for two and very pretty. I went through hundreds of recipes and finally I ended up on Donna Hay’s site. I found this amazing recipe including mozzarella, mushrooms, rosemary and the iron pan. It’s easy to make, so perfect as a tryout of my new toy. I hope you’ll like it as much as I did and, obviously, you don’t need an iron pan to make it 😉
You will need:
- 3 big champignons
- 2 balls of mozzarella
- 2 sprigs rosemary
- 40g butter
- 1 baguette
- olive oil for baguette
- salt and pepper
- garlic clove
Start with preparing baguette. Cut it in slices, brush with an olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Heat a pan on a medium heat and fry on both sides until golden (be careful as it’s easy to overdo). When your toasts are ready you can rub it with garlic. You’re half way through.
Now it’s time to make mozzarella with mushrooms. I used an iron pan, but it’s not necessary. Melt butter, add add cut champignons, rosemary, salt pepper and fry for few minutes. When mushrooms are soft and brownish add mozzarella torn in smaller pieces. It will take 2-3 minutes for it to melt. Serve hot with toasts. You’ll be amazed how good it is.
Enjoy, Marta
You may not need an iron skillet to make it, but oh how I lust for one! Looks fabulous 🙂 x
Ooh man I don’t even like mushroom normally but this looks so gorgeous with the melty cheese and the crusty toast…you are making me want to make this right now!!
This looks so good! I spend sometime to decide on purchasing too. I still haven’t bought a crock pot after 2+ years, and not bought the bundt mold after 1 years. xD Such a great recipe for cooking with the new cast iron pan! I’ve been using one for years now. I love it!
Oooh. Looks yummy! Where did you get the pan? I hope you got it in the US. So much cheaper there! And fried mozzarella. This is something I can get behind. Love it. 🙂
Enjoy using your new pan. Great recipe Marta 🙂
I love Donna Hay recipes – they are so clean and simple. This looks lovely. My mini food-processor is my favourite kitchen appliance.
I know the Donna Hay issue and recipe – it sounds like a particularly good one. I love that you did it in a cast iron – I love mine, can’t live without it.
I love cooking in cast iron and that fact that they last forever makes them a must a working kitchen. I would definitely find the flavor of this dish amazing! These are a must make! Gorgeous pics!
I just got my first cast iron skillets too! Ironic, huh? That looks like a breakfast I can enjoy everyday 🙂
This looks and sounds so delicious, thank you for the recipe!
My husband got me my 12-inch cast iron pan for the first birthday I had when we started dating… and I was ecstatic. Love everything about it! They are quite literally indestructible, and you can use them over/in any heat source: stove top, oven, camp fire, coals, bbq… fantastic!
This looks like a delicious recipe! I love rosemary and mushrooms together
Great pan! And wonderful recipe. I really like this. And your photos are great (and loads of fun!). Thanks so much.
I make these quite often, as I love the Mozzarella and rosemary combo, and mushrooms are my fav. I make it on Scala or even a Cibata at times. But you know what? Mine NEVER look as pretty. The pictures are gorgeous, the cheese is perfectly melted, and the mushrooms look delicious. I am dying for a bite. Yummmmm!!!
Is there anything else more delicious? Really. Sauteed mushrooms, cheese, herbs, and a perfect loaf. I’m not one for gadgets in the kitchen either. I keep eyeing a “juicer” but I’m not too sure if I’ll ever come home with one. More than likely not. 🙂
How delicious! I love the next to last photo.
This looks great, you can never go wrong with msuhrooms and mozzarella! http://beautyandsomebeef.com
My mouth was watering when I saw this on Instagram… love the rosemary, this would make a delicious appetizer!
Gorgeous clicks and toast! That is such a scrumptious combination. I love the addition of rosemary.Cheers,Rosa
A jajka sadzone wychodzą bajecznie 🙂

-
Albo przekazałaby wszyskie rozmowy przeprowadzone nad nią, 20 lat to kupa czasu 😉 Tą mozzarellę z czystym sumieniem polecam, nawet kot o nią walczył.

I made this and it was so good! i added a little bit of white wine. It didn’t turn out as beautiful and perfect as in these picts, but the taste was as delicious as it seems!
