I wanted to make earl grey granola for so long, her it is!
We had a busy weekend with Tomasz as we’ve decided to take advantage of relaxed Mia and to cook and take pictures. It was fun, believe me. We did everything in a speed time, as in any minute Mia could have waken up. I had no idea that I can be so organised and fast. And guess what we’ve been talking about while doing things – of course Mia.
I remember hearing from my mothers-friends that they watch pictures of their children when they’re asleep. I used to think that it’s a crazy thing to do and always wanted to say “Why? Just relax and enjoy”. Well, Mia is sleeping right now and I just watched a video of her smiling to me. I’m officially a crazy mama. Don’t judge me please. You haven’t seen this girl. She has beautiful eyes and when she smiles it gets so tiny that you can hardly see it – the sweetest view. But there’s also a second side of this coin called life. Whenever someone is trying to wake my baby up I stop to be polite and I say “NO! DON’T!”.
I wanted to make earl grey granola since I saw it on Baking Magique blog. I made few changes and it’s awesome! We made it on Saturday so obviously it’s gone by now. But I still remember the flavour. It was a-w-e-s-o-m-e_! The cool thing about homemade granola is that you can put inside whatever you like.
You will need:
- 2 ½ cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans
- 1/3 cup chia seeds
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp cardamon
- 1/3 cup coconut flakes
- ½ cup rice syrup
- ½ cup coconut oil
- ½ cup dried cranberries
- ½ cup goji berries
- 2/3 cup water
- 3 tsp earl grey tea
- zest and juice from ½ lemon
Heat an oven to 175*C. Brew 3 teaspoons of tea (in a bag on a brewing spoon) in 2/3 cup of boiled water. In a bowl place oats, sunflower seeds, chopped pecans, chia seeds, cinnamon, cardamon, coconut flakes, dried cranberries, goji berries and mix. Then add brewed tea, zest and juice from ½ lemon, rice syrup, coconut oil and mix well. Place the mix on a paper and bake for about 30 – 40 minutes. Mix it each 10 minutes and watch it after 30 minutes so it won’t burn.
Enjoy, Marta

Omg. This is amazing!! I love all your action shots (flying granola, anyone?) Beautiful!!! love homemade granola, and I am obsessed with earl grey flavor. I’ve got to try this!
Dear Marta,

Whoaaaa that picture of Tomasz tossing the granola in mid-air is so cool! It’s like, popping out of the screen. 😀 And welcome to the crazy mom society, lol! It’s amazing how one can love so much and so unconditionally, isn’t it? And I think that’s the best thing about motherhood.

Love love love this! the ingredients are very similar to what I usually put in my own granola mix, but never in my life I would have thought about adding tea!! Earl Grey is one of the most delicious things on this planet. I got this pinned and can’t wait to try it!

using tea in Granola? I am going to try this tomorrow! The flavours you paired earl grey with are gorgeous! I especially love the use of lemon in it.
No oil in this recipe, I love it! Does it come crunchy anyway?
Btw, the second photo is just amazing!

Homemade granola tastes so much better than the bought one and it is healthier too! Wonderful.Cheers,Rosa
Hello! I’ve done this recipe twice and (although it’s SO lovely) adding 2/3 cup water makes the oats soggy so that when I bake it they come out kinda bread-like. Am I doing something wrong?
