I could see plums all over the city, calling me to use them. My grandma used to make delicious plum jam and now it’s time for me to try it as well. What can I say, it’s just too easy. If you’ve been ever afraid of making a jam, try this one. It’s trivial, and you’ll be able to eat it during a cold winter days.
You will need:
- 2 kg plums
- 100g sugar
- 1 tbsp vinegar
Clean the plums, cut in half and discard seeds. Put all the ingredients in a large pot (preferably with a thick bottom) and start to cook on a low heat, under the cover, until fruits releases a juice. Then remove the cover and boil for around 2 hours, stirring from time to time.
Wash jars with a boiled water and when jam is still warm, transport it to the jars and close them.
If you are wondering why I’ve used the vinegar, the answer is simple. It will help to preserve the color and won’t influence the taste.
Enjoy, Marta
