As I am having a period of chocolate cravings, well… I’m acting on it.
It is a very special sandwich and I am afraid it’s not for everyone. I saw a picture of a mix of chocolate and bacon on Pinterest and obviously I wanted to try it. This time I didn’t use Nutella, as Tomasz has already taken care of a jar. This boy has a thing for a chocolate spread and he can’t sleep as long as there’s a jar of it in our apartment. As I am having a period of chocolate cravings, well… I’m acting on it.
We’ve organised a night of baking Tartine bread with Tomasz, so in the morning we had a delicious big loaf. Yummy! To mix it with salty bacon, delicious and rich in flavour dark chocolate, figs and blue cheese – perfection in a world of a pregnant woman. I hope you’ll love it as much as I did!
You will need:
- 2 slices of bread
- butter
- dark chocolate (like 70%), shredded in small pieces
- fried bacon
- fig
- blue cheese
Heat up a frying pan and melt a bit of a butter on it (like 1 tbsp), place two slices of bread and toast it on both sides. On one of them put chopped chocolate, so it will melt a bit, cover with fried bacon (still hot), add sliced fig and spread blue cheese over it. Cover with another slice and enjoy! The chocolate may end on your hands, but this is a price to pay for a hot chocolate sandwich 😉

This is purely incredible, and if it weren’t for the fact that I don’t eat meat, I would be making myself one pronto. I could use veggie ‘bacon’, but I feel as though that would ruin the entire recipe. So beautiful!
