What I liked most about Ireland was a feeling of freedom I got there.
We entered Ireland by ferry. It was at night and the only thing we wished for was to park our van and sleep. Mia was already doing so, me and T. wanted to join, preferably on a bed in a back, not in her car seat.
I woke up to a beautiful sunrise, warm sun rays running on my face, delicate wind and I felt like something was wrong… Why? Because I was in Ireland and the weather was awesome! In the next weeks it has been all the same… sun, fun and warm weather… IN IRELAND! It turned out that we were one lucky folks and we chose the best moment (maybe even the best in the history of the country) to visit Ireland. To explain, we were talking to one local girl who said, that she has never experienced a weather like this in Ireland her whole life, but her grandfather did when he was a kid and only for a few days. It may be true, it may be a story told to make us feel special, but for sure we had weeks of a great weather in Ireland.
The first thing we’ve noticed was that Ireland is incredibly beautiful, and Irish amazingly friendly. The food is good, beer even better, the atmosphere great. Wild camping is easy to do, water collection as well, but emptying a camper toilet – not easy at all…, finding a rubbish bin – mission impossible. Thankfully, we do not produce much of rubbish, so we could live a week without a need to find a bin. But have it in mind while planning your trip over there.
What I liked most about Ireland was a feeling of freedom. Most probably thank to an incredibly amazing nature and space. We did not meet many of fellow travellers, but we did meet a lot of sheep. They were our neighbours wherever we stopped. I am a big fan of sheep, so it was a great experience for me. If you feel like disconnecting, spending some time in an nature without many tourists around, go on a road trip to Ireland.
2018th was definitely the year to travel in Ireland. Since we left, I miss it and think of it dearly.
These are some of the places we visited:
