OMG it helps.
There’s many drinks and meals we all know well but forget about their existence. I live on the last floor of a very old building in Berlin and I work from home. It means that during a hot days I have sauna in my apartment. I used to open all the windows in my place but my cat is trying to catch flies and birds flying outside, so it’s not working anymore. What really helps is sour lemonade. OMG it helps. We’re drinking liters of it. With a bit of honey and ice cubes it’s a miracle in a glass. I need it as much as my cat need to hunt flies.
You will need:
- 4 lemons
- ice cubes (many)
- 1 liter medium sparkling water
- 2 tbsp honey
Squeeze out juice from three lemons and place it in a jar. Cut the forth one in pieces and add with sparkling water and honey. Cool it in a fridge and add many ice cubes.
Enjoy, Marta
That looks so incredibly refreshing… oh how I wish it was hot enough to drink it here right now! 🙁
I don’t have air conditioning so my house gets extremely hot too – and I have wanderlust cats. This lemonade is beautiful! Love the touch of honey.
Hi Marta, very refreshing and inviting lemonade. Your pictures is excellent! Best regards.
Your lemonade looks a amazing, a real taste-quencher! I spent this weekend walking around my neighbourhood, and stopped to have lemonade at a lovely little cafe, it was quite refreshing!
Love your cat! Our cat tries to catch anything that moves, too, including her own shadow. 😉 I agree lemonade shouldn’t be too sweet – I love the citrus tang! Good post – thanks.
Refreshing and delicious! I love your cute kitty. Wonderful pictures.Cheers,Rosa
Lemonade just screams summer to me! Thanks for sharing!
I think cat is considering giving up the flies and taking on the lemonade
I love lemonade too and totally agree, it should be sour and cold to count as lemonade!
The clicks are divine. Especially the last one – priceless! This could go into a frame, seriously.
This looks wonderful! I think I’d like it with a splash of Citron vodka, too 🙂

Averie I love your idea 😀

A perfect drink to cool us off. Your cat is too cute.
This looks like the perfect drink for a hot summer day. We finally got air conditioning (which makes the heat more bearable). But I know I’d enjoy this regardless of the temps outside.
This sounds so perfectly refreshing.
This looks like a miracle in a glass, so refreshing! And how darling is your cat!
This is exactly what I NEED right now…so dang hot and humid today…
I’ve been drinking hot drinks since I came to SF…so cold. I wish I saw this while I was in Japan where it was so hot and humid. I’m saving this recipe for a warm day (it’ll come one day! haha). Love the way you make it. And I do love your table (I know, I told you 1000 times. ;))!
