Passata Beans on Toast

I was always intrigued how Americans make this big breakfast – always sausages, eggs and beans.

We had a sweet week, so this one is mostly about savoury breakfasts. There are recipes that I know from cafes, but never tried at home. This paasata beans are one of them. The cool thing is, that it’s easy to make. The other – it tastes amazing on a toast. There are no bad things.

I was always intrigued how Americans make this big breakfast – always sausages, eggs and beans. I used to think who has time for this. Now I know – it’s just fast and easy. If you feel like a big juicy breakfast, make this recipe and add some extras on top.

I found the recipe on Olive Magazine and it looked too good not to make.

The Recipe

YOU WILL NEED:

  • onion
  • olive oil
  • pinch of chilli flakes
  • 200ml passata
  • cannellini beans, 400g tin
  • handful parsley
  • sourdough bread
Chop the onion, heat your pan with an olive oil over a medium heat and start to fry onion. When it gets glassy, add chili flakes and passata. Let it cook for about 5 minutes. Add drained beans and cook for another 5 minutes.

Chop parsley, mix it with beans and serve on toasted sourdough slice.

Enjoy, Marta

This dish looks delicious – savoury breakfast recipes are great. We’ve had friends over last weekend so we ended up having brunch together combining sweet & savoury dishes which was amazing. Will remember this recipe for next time 🙂

Your beans on toast look absolutely delectable! I would have them for dinner, though – Brazilians are not used to having beans, bacon and sausages for breakfast. I usually have a cup of latte (with almond milk, instead of dairy) and a toast with jam.

It is a nice light breakfast you’re having. It will work for a dinner as well 🙂
