Yesterday we had such a strong storm over here, that rain created a wall of a water and the lightnings created something like a huge lamp on the sky. I haven’t seen anything like this for a long time. All of that took place at 3 am and I am extremely glad I came back home early yesterday, I would probably have drawned otherwise. Such are the charms of summer, once sun, once rain. There are also bad news – the strawberry season is almost over. I add them to almost everything and it will be heartbreaking to say goodbye. So as long as I can buy them, I’ll eat them by kilograms.
I had few tortillas in my fridge, so I’ve spread peanut butter over them, covered with sliced fruits and then fried. The difference between pancakes and tortillas with fruits is that the second ones are more crisp, especially if you fry them for a bit longer.
You will need:
- butter for frying
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 2 whole grain tortillas
- 1 large ripe banana, sliced
- 4-5 strawberries, sliced
- cinnamon
Spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter on each tortilla, arrange the banana and strawberry slices over one tortilla, sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon, and top with the remaining tortilla, peanut butter side down. Press gently to help them stick together.
Move it on a hot frying pan and fry until nicely golden on both sides. When ready, cut in four parts and eat with a pleasure 😉
Enjoy, Marta

Oh my! I really want to eat this! What a hearty and delicious tasty breakfast! Just added bananas to the grocery list!
I usually make crepe with the same ingredients (and sometimes switch with nutella), but never made tortillas with them! This is such a great idea because I usually have leftover tortillas but can’t use all of them fast enough. Great snack idea!

The storms lately have been so fierce. Nice breakfast to wake up to, it looks delicious!

Thank you! It was delicious and I like that this version was served hot.
I love stormy weather when I’m home safe and can look out the window whilst being all rugged up!Peanut butter and banana…. ohhhh yeah!!

I love to read during the rain. Rain makes it so much nicer.
Great use for leftover tortillas… I always have some left over after we’ve had tacos… usually just end up using them for some sandwich later. Thanks for the idea!

I definitely have to check out your recipes for tacos 🙂
I’ll take strawberry and peanut butter on just about anything. I am one of those people who has to have a tablespoon of peanut butter EVERY day to maintain balance. Yes, we have to say goodbye to strawberries….but welcome cherries!!

hahaha, I like peanut butter as well. It makes me happy 🙂
What a terrific idea! I’ve used tortillas in desserts before, but always with ice cream and (usually) honey. This is much more flavorful, and definitely lighter. I’m with you on strawberry season – we eat them until they come out of our ears while they’re cheap and plentiful.

I will miss strawberries, I had so much fun with it, eating it all the time. But we’ll have cherries now, so it’s not that bad 🙂
I love these… how gorgeous to use tortillas for dessert.
