Sometimes I have this “mornings” when I don’t have time for anything. And it does not matter that I get up early, it’s just one of those times. Of course a lack of coffee could be an explanation (I’m a half-a-lunatic without it), but I know better than to fight with it.
This is when I grab a bowl, my favorite granola, yogurt, an apple and it makes me happy. But this year I want to go one step further and be ready and more creative. Someone wrote me, that today’s proposition is not a breakfast. Maybe it’s not, but I had it for breakfast and it made me very happy.
You will need:
- pear
- ham
- cream
- horseradish
- pepper
- parsley
Cut the pear in half lengthwise and clean it from seeds. In a cup mix 1 tablespoon of cream and 1 teaspoon of horseradish. Place ham on each half of the pear and top with some horseradish cream. Season with pepper and add a bit of parsley.
Mr T. suggests that it will be better if you fry a pear or place it in an oven for 5 minutes so it will be more soft. Most probably he’s right. I like my pear raw, but you can try whatever way you like 🙂
Enjoy, Marta

Marta I am completely in love with your photography!!! What a treat for all of us.
And so funny that you are writing about pears and horseradish – just the other night I had the most delicious salad with pear and wasabi. I can’t stop thinking about it. And here you are.xxoo

This would make an amazing appetizer too! I would happily grab a couple of servings hehe
Great breakfast! Great any time, actually. I often eat like this for breakfast – I rarely eat cereal these days, and am just not in the mood for all the sweet stuff many people enjoy early in the day. Good post – thanks.
Do you have a type/variety of ham you recommend for this recipe?
Beautiful presentation, I love the stuffed pears!
Wow. That is the best way to eat a pear!
You are indeed being very creative. And who are these breakfast police who dictate what we can and can’t eat for breakfast? Have oysters if you want! LOL. It’s just a way to get some good food into our bodies.
This is such a pretty combination! I’m loving horseradish right now. And, now I feel like my breakfasts need a new twist!
Mmmmm! This looks great!
Your recipe has just the right amount of angst.
