Poznań Guide, Eat Poland!

Recommendations for delicious food in Poznań

Eat Poznań is a second part of my Eat Poland guide project. The funny part is that I haven’t seen so much of Poland before I’ve decided to start it over a year ago. But I should start differently, so let’s go back and do it right.

Poznań is beautiful! It has an amazing coffee culture, food is over delicious, people friendly, old town magical and it has this unique parts of town like Śródka street or Taczaka Street, where you can find a delicious spot next to another delicious one and so on and so on. I’ve been there three times this year, most probably more often than I am in Warsaw (my home town) and I’ll go back, as I still have a long list of places to visit.

Here come few recommendations:

Ośla ławka – This place was a big surprise. We were wandering around Taczaka street, ready to go to Je Sus (super extra hip vegan place), but they didn’t have a big lunch bite we were after at the time and we needed it. We were passing Ośla Ławka and I just went inside to see how it looks because I remembered someone mentioning this place. OMG! The interior is very minimalistic and so beautiful, the service is one of the most amazing ones I had for a long time (thank you so much!) and food is the best! I loved everything we got (yep, I had a bite from each plate). Even guests eating there were super friendly and we had a lovely chat. With this kind of experience I want to move to Poznań on Taczaka street and eat there every day.

Ośla ławka, ul. Stanisława Taczaka 23, Poznan 61-818, Mon-Sat: 1:00 pm – 9:00 Pm, Sun: 1:00 pm – 7:00 am

Raj – Another amazing surprise in Poznań. I spent a year in Asia, eating my way through the continent. I ate a lot and after this year I figured out what I like and what I don’t. With Thai cuisine, I have a rule to judge it through pad thai. So when I went to La Ruina this is what I’ve ordered. It was freaking delicious! Ant this place! They have a cinema room, your kids can play there or you can make out with your girlfriend/boyfriend or you can just eat there. Then there’s a part that was like taken straight from Asian restaurant and a lovely front room with walls that I wanted to take home. Then the atmosphere. Wow! It’s so friendly, calm, relaxing… You want to go there. If there’s only one place you can eat in Poznań and you like Asian food, this is it! They also have a very cool menu – each dish is in a form of a postcard and you can read all about it.

Raj, Śródka 3, Poznan 61-125, Sun-Thu: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm, Fri-Sat: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm

Cafe La Ruina – Is a sweet coffee place. They have delicious coffee, very nice cakes! And they are super friendly. It could not be different, as it belongs together with Raj. I checked out both places because this kind of vibe is unique enough not to check it.

Cafe La Ruina, Śródka 3, Poznan 61-125, Sun-Thu: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm, Fri-Sat: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm

Drukarnia skład chleba i wina – We went there for a breakfast and we were not disappointed. Ok, maybe our waitress didn’t have a sunshine personality, but the other one was great from what I saw. My friend Patricia took a fancy breakfast with champagne and she loved it, all the ingredients were high quality and it tasted like heaven. I took something that I could easily share with a small girl, polish cheese and eggs and it was tip top as well. They bake their own bread and sell it in a very nice price. They also have a nice selection of wine, and I’m definitely checking it out. I really liked the interior as I love big spaces.

Drukarnia skład chleba i wina, Podgórna 6, Poznan 61-829, Mon-Wed: 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm, Thu: 7:00 am – 12:00 am, Fri: 7:00 pm – 1:00 am, Sat: 11:00am-1:00am, Sun: 11:00am-10:00pm

Piece of cake – They serve coffee and cake. This is the most basic description. But if you want to know more, well, there’s a lot of more. First and foremost, they take their coffee very seriously. Coffee beans come from the best roasters from Berlin, they definitely know how to make the best cup possible and if you tell them what you like, you’ll get it. Then we’re moving to cakes – wow. We tried quite a few on different occasions and each one of them was super delicious. It’s a must! Then let’s talk about the place itself. Well, it’s super cosy. You have nice old school furnitures, books, magazines, nice lighting and a beautiful garden. If you’re there during a nice weather, please check it out.

Piece of cake, Zydowska 29, Poznan 61-761, Mon-Fri 11am – 8pm, Sat-Sun 12am – 8pm

Bazar 1838 – I’ve been passing this restaurant during each of my visits in Poznań. It has such a beautiful interior. We went there with atomic Mia, so we’ve decided to take a sit in their garden. It didn’t help as I ended up walking around the restaurant like 50 times, but it gave me a chance to look at all the details. Just look at the pictures, so pretty. Then we’ve ordered some food and OMG! Mia approved as she didn’t even let me take pictures, she simply started to eat. If you fancy a fancy dinner in Poznań, this will be your place.

Bazar 1838, ul. Paderewskiego 8 , 61-770 Poznań, Mon-Thu 11:00 am – 10:00 pm, Fri-Sat: 11:00 am – 11:00 pm, Sun: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm

Cocorico Café & Restaurant – I went there as I had a tip through Instagram (Thank you!). Otherwise, I have no idea if I would find it. It’s a restaurant with the most beautiful hidden garden. We were sitting there over a cider (yum yum) and Mia had some pasta for kids (they do have a children’s menu yupi!). They also have few extremely good juices.

Cocorico Café & Restaurant, ul. Świętosławska 9, Poznan 61-840, Mon-Sun: 10:00 am – 11:00 pm

Stragan KawiarniaPerfect choice for our last coffee break in Poznań. We took over a couch, where Mia fell asleep and we didn’t, as we had a great cup of coffee. The cakes were delicious, we licked our fingers and I like the place. Not too big, but very cosy. I loved the service as well!

Stragan Kawiarnia, Franciszka Ratajczaka 31, Poznan 61-816, Mon-Fri: 8:00 am – 10:00 pm, Sat: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm, Sun: 11:00 am – 8:00 pm

Jaglana – I liked that it’s so comfy over there. As you can see on a picture, Mia was comfy as well. They have a nice ideas for a breakfast and definitely great juices. You can compose it yourself. And they have options like coconut milk or chia seeds or whatever you like really.

Jaglana, Kramarska 1/5, Poznan 61-765, Mon-Fri: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, Sat: 9:00 am – 7:00 pm, Sun: 10:00am – 6:00pm

Fat Bob Burger – I was looking for the best burger in Poznań and it turned out that this one was located just next to us. I like the whole idea. You get a good burger, just like you like it plus they have a coleslaw salad (yey!) and very good fries (also sweet potatoes one!). I liked the interior as well. The only minus was that I really felt like a beer and it was not an option, but I don’t think that it counts as a disadvantage really.

Fat Bob Burger, Kramarska 21, Poznan, Mon-Thu: 1:00pm- 10:00 pm, Fri-Sat: 1:00pm-12:00am, Sun: 1:00pm-8:00pm

Pijalnia Czekolady E.Wedel – I have a soft spot in my heart for this spot. I used to go to Pijalnia Czekolady in Warsaw when I was still living over there 10 years ago. They have an amazing thick chocolate made from ganache. You can take it away and walk with it during colder days around an old town. Whenever I drink it, I have a blast from the past.

Pijalnia Czekolady E.Wedel, Stary Rynek 92, 61-773 Poznań

Street Market on Plac Wielkopolski – There are some amazing street markets in Poland, each town has something special. In Poznań we went on Plac Wielkopolski and they had a whole bush of kale over there! I love to grab some fresh veggies and fruits and eat it just like it.

Wow, your photos are incredible! I have been to Poland few times, but never in Poznan. Now I really want to go. I usually stay in Warsaw during my trips to Poland. My favourite place there is Bubbles. Everything there is so delicious! It is a bar and restaurant, so it is perfect for any occasion:)

Mieszkam poza Polska. Zawsze, kiedy ja odwiedzam napawam sie pięknem, gustem, elegancja. Mój Niemiecki maz juz nie jest sceptycznie nastawiony, przeciwnie. Zauroczył go ostatnio Kazimierz Dolny i Trójmiasto.
    Piękne zdjęcia!
