There is this saying that if something sounds too good to be true, most probably it is. Well, listen to this – it takes 5 minutes to make a bread and 30 to bake it. It’s so good, that it disappears straight away. I’ve found the original recipe on My Kitchen Affair blog, I made few changes and here it is.
You will need:
- 100g buckwheat flour
- 150g all purpose flour
- ½ tsp soda
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 2-3 sticks of rosemary, shredded
- 1/3 cup raisins
- 1/3 cup almonds, cut in small pieces
- 200 ml buttermilk
Heat your oven to 200*C (400*F) with a baking tray inside. Place everything in a bowl and mix so the ingredients combine. The dough will be sticky, it’s ok. Place the dough on a floured surface and create a bowl. It’s ok that there is a flour on it. Place it on a hot tray covered with a baking paper, cut a deep “x” on a dough and bake for about 30 minutes.
Enjoy, Marta
It’s been way too long since I’ve baked a soda bread and this post immediately gets me craving one. Put it on top of my list now. Thanks for the reminder and mouthwatering pictures! Have a great weekend!
Such a gorgeous looking bread!!!!! 🙂
Easy AND delicious! Love it!
Love how easy it sounds and I believe you! I used to make French baguette for fun (haven’t done for a long time) – not perfect but still it was amazing…especially out of the oven. I miss it! I am truly inspired to bake bread now.
This bread looks amazing! I love your blog!
a hug
The stark background with that mouthwatering bread….make for mouthwatering visuals. Amazing!
almond and rosemary – never thought about pairing them together but since everything you make is delicious, I am sure its heavenly. pinning it.
Discovered you through Saveur and inadvertently pinning your beautiful work — so glad that I found your blog and so excited to keep following you! This rustic bread is gorgeous (and such a perfect combination of flavors).
Wow. I love rosemary, so I know I’d love this. We make loads of quick breads these days (often beer-fueled), and this looks just like something we’d love. Thanks.
Scrumptious bread, I love the texture from the raisins and almonds!
Just made it. Already had 2 slices. I added some sugar. Delicious with a schmear of butter!
Yummy!
Beautiful, Marta. This made my morning!!

This looks just wonderful! So it’s the soda that makes it rise I guess?
