Today I made it simple. Everything started form a conversation and childhood memories. I don’t know if it was only Poland, but we used to have semolina for a breakfast quite often. My mum used to add a spoon of jam, so it was sweet and I loved it! You can go extreme and add a spiced strawberry sauce or maybe a home made jam if you made some this year.
You will need (for 1):
- 3 tbsp of semolina
- 1 cup of milk
- jam or spiced strawberry sauce
In a small sauce pot, on a small heat, cook milk with semolina. If you like it sweet you can add a teaspoon of an agave syrup. Cook until milk will start to boil, mix with spoon from time to time. When it’s ready serve with a spoon of jam or the spiced strawberry sauce.
Enjoy, Marta

I have never had semolina, and this looks like a delicious and healthy way to eat that.

You should try it. But I can warn you, most children in Poland hate it, as they make us eat it when we’re small 😉
I can totally make this for those crazy mornings!!!
http://TheSquishyMonster.combtw, I’m having trouble commenting (it’s prob. just me bc I’m massively computer illiterate but the disqus name/email keeps saying I’m already logged in and wouldn’t let me comment so I had to make up a new email, but again, most likely a me-prob, LOL

oh you’re not the first one… unfortunately there’s an error somewhere and I can’t locate it. I hope that uncle tumblr will give me a New Year gift and fix it 🙂

Hi Marta, this simple breakfast look really good and healthy. I still got 1/4 packet of semolina… will give it a try. Thanks for sharing the delicious recipe.Have a nice week ahead, regards.

Thank you, I hope you’ll try it. It’s a typical recipe from my childhood, usually served in a kindergarden 🙂 But I must say that most of my friends hate semolina just because of their kindergarden experiences, hahaha.
Mamma mia che bontà. Davvero raffinati e deliziosi! Complimenti! 🙂

Gracias Elisa!
You have made that simple breakfast look delicious. I remember similar desserts when I was young but not for breakfast. Breakfast was always weetbix and a soft boiled egg.
-
I like your kind of breakfast as well. Eggs are one of my favorites for breakfast, in any form 🙂
A simple, but wonderful dessert! Quite regressive too.Cheers,Rosa

I have never tried semolina but I’ve seen it in a package at store before (just didn’t know how to eat it). This is so pretty, and the red berries look so pretty with this jam!
