As Krysia is sending some tempting suggestions for a breakfast from Asia, I’ll concentrate on something polish, delicious and refreshing. I love international food, but as a real polish gal I can’t imagine my life without pierogi, polish style cottage cheese, ogórki or other typical and “to tasty to be real” products. Today something fast and easy to prepare. You will love it, I know I do.

You will need (for 6-7):

  • 200g polish cottage cheese
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp flour

Beat the egg and sugar until fluffy. Add the cheese and flour and combine everything well (you can also add some nuts or raisins if you like it sweet). In your hands form small balls from the dough and flat it a little bit (dust your hands with the flour first, because the dough is sticky). Heat an oil and fry on a medium heat until nicely golden.

Serve with a yogurt and your favorite jam.

Enjoy, Marta

I made those we regular english cottage cheese and they looked nothing like yours and I’m sure it’s better with polish cheese but they were still delicious 🙂

These do sound and look delicious, can I use English cottage cheese as I’ll never find the polish one here in Spail?

i would love these…what is the difference between…say…Knudsen cottage cheese and Polish cottage cheese?. will American store bought cottage cheese work?

polish white cheese is more like a sweet goat cheese. I don’t think that a regular cottage cheese will do. Try a goat cheese, or maybe there’s a polish store somewhere in your area 🙂
